About acupuncture

Acupuncture uses extremely fine needles that stimulate specific points to redirect blood flow, as well as neural, chemical and hormonal signals. The redirection of energy known as qi (or chi) also restores optimal functions of the body. Acupuncture aims to influence physiological processes with the intention of facilitating the body’s own natural healing mechanisms.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, a meridian (or Jing Lou) is a pathway through which qi and energy flows. They have different names, such as acupuncture meridians, acupoints, or energy vessels. Meridians are similar to the circulatory or nervous system, but are non-visible.

It works in a physiological way to create an environment that allows your body to naturally heal itself, without synthetic drugs or surgery.
